Domaine de Ladoucette is a large domaine based in Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire Valley. While the domaine itself, and the associated, eye-catching Château de Nozet in Pouilly-sur-Loire, accounts for around 10 percent of all Pouilly-Fumé production (it owns 165 hectares – 400 acres – in the appellation), the domaine also boasts numerous labels across France, Italy and Switzerland, many with international distribution.

The original estate dates back to 1787, when the Comte Lafond bought the estate from the illegitimate daughter of France’s King Louis XV and, to this day, the estate is owned by his descendants.

Since the 1970s, however, the company has also moved into Sancerre, Chablis, Vouvray and Chinon, and now has considerable holdings across these regions.

As such, wines are produced under numerous labels aside from the Domaine de Ladoucette title, which includes the eponymous offering as well as the top cuvée Baron de L, and the Comte Lafond Pouilly-Fumé. These include Marc Brédif (Vouvray), La Poussie (Sancerre), as well as Régnard and Albert Pic in Chablis.

Outside France, the company runs Domaine de Mont-le-Vieux in Tartegnin, in the Swiss canton of Vaud, where it produces wines across the Tartegnin, Féchy and Yvorne subregions. The Comte also owns two Tuscan estates in the Upper Maremma, collectively known as Tenute del Barone.
